How to promote your event on WhatsApp and Instagram (and fill every night)
Practical ways to sell more passes: WhatsApp groups and Status, Instagram stories and reels, promoter codes, Garba classes and posters, all leading to one booking link.
Most passes for local events are sold through WhatsApp and Instagram, by people sharing with people. The trick is to make sharing easy, and to send every share to a page where people can book in a minute.
Make one link the centre of everything
Every post, poster and message should point to your booking page. On My Event Booker, the Share screen gives you your link, a ready WhatsApp message, a QR code and a poster to download.
- Groups: share the ready message with your link in society, family, college and business groups. Ask your committee members to forward it to theirs.
- Status: put the poster on your WhatsApp Status the evening before each night, and ask your team to do the same.
- Broadcast lists: message past attendees from your own WhatsApp. You can download your attendees’ numbers to make a broadcast list. Broadcast messages only reach people who have saved your number.
- Ready messages: send reminders, venue and parking details, and a thank-you after the event, from the WhatsApp screen.
- Put your booking link in your bio, and use the link sticker on stories.
- Post short reels: last year’s crowd, the singer’s practice, the stage going up, a countdown.
- Make joint posts with your singer, DJ, sponsors and local dance classes, so their followers see them too.
- Reply to questions quickly, and point people to your booking page.
Promoters and Garba classes
Create a promo code for each promoter, dance class or college group, and share their personal link with the code already in it. Your bookings show who sold what, so you can thank, reward or pay commission fairly.
Posters still work
Print your poster for shops, society notice boards, colleges, dance classes and your venue gate. Its QR code opens your booking page, so people can book while they’re standing there.
Get found on Google
Each public event gets its own page that Google can show, and your events are listed on your city’s events page (for example events in Akola). Fill in your page’s about text, photos and questions & answers. It helps people trust you, and helps search engines understand your page.
A simple 3-week plan
- Week 1: announce the dates and the early-bird price, and post the poster everywhere.
- Week 2: reels, sponsor posts and promoter codes, plus a reminder before the early-bird price ends.
- Week 3: daily Status and a countdown. Say “few passes left” only for nights that really are filling up.
- Event days: post photos from each night, and promote the next one.
Only add people to WhatsApp groups if they know you and agree. Unwanted messages get reported, and your number can be blocked.
